Washington Street Art Center

This provides some documentation of a collaborative attempt to map the sound environment of the Washington Street Art Center in Somerville, MA. This occurred on January 17, 2019 as part of the co-incidence festival. There were multiple methods employed including but not limited to:

-Recording discrete locations and analyzing the dominant frequencies (in terms of amplitude and harmonic resonance). The documentation for this process at several of the locations is provided below including the harmonic analysis and sound files. With this technique different different parameters were specified for each analysis and can be viewed in the analysis file.

-Measuring the standing waves of the interior structure.

-Representing graphically the sound amplitude at a location as a stereo image (left and right channels)

Participants included Clara Allison, Derek Baron, Aaron Foster Breilyn, Jordan Dykstra, Joachim Eckl, John Eagle, Luke Martin, Michael Pisaro, Sarah Pitan, Angeles Rojas, and Tim Tsang.
